Innovative Artists
"Put the ART back in Artistry"
The Innovative Artists stream gives dancers the chance to step into the world of performance with a company-like experience. Students participate in competitions, receiving valuable feedback from industry professionals along with personalized notes from their rehearsal director after each event. These reflections guide dancers as they grow in artistry, technique, and confidence.

This stream emphasizes the importance of working as an ensemble while building leadership, accountability, independence, and adaptability. Students train up to six hours per week, with additional rehearsals for groups or Spotlights (solos, duos, and trios hand-selected by the Director). Students in this stream attend mandatory classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Conditioning, with Tap and Hip Hop offered as optional classes. At IADC, we encourage every dancer to become a team player first, and Spotlight opportunities are offered to students who demonstrate artistry, sportsmanship, and resilience — qualities we actively nurture in all of our dancers.

Because this is a performance-focused stream, an assessment is required for acceptance and placement. This process ensures dancers are placed in the division that best supports both their technical development and their artistic journey.
